CROSS FLOWER - CARVING DESIGN

This workshop is an introduction to this popular style of carving. We will cover how I approach Sheridan Style Carving.

Day 1: I will cover my techniques on how to transfer the design to leather, use of the swivel knife and stamping tools to make this different sheridan style flower and buds.

Day 2: Will be an extension of day one on how to use the tools for decoration and techniques on how to use my modelling tool to finesse the design.

SHERIDAN STYLE & FIGURE CARVING

This workshop takes you to the next level of combining two different carving techniques. Incorporating the two-dimensional animal technique and Sheridan style carving, combining the two to complete a spectacular project.

Days 1 and 2 will cover the use of modelling tools and stamping tools to create a 3D structure with rich layers, and different textures on different parts of the cat. Examples are the nose, tongue, and hair texturing techniques that I have developed to create my life-like animals.

We will also cover how I approach Sheridan style carving. Then other skills on how to use each individual tool correctly to create my flowers. Then how to use other stamps to decorate the design.

Day 3: Dyeing Techniques

3D FEATHERS

3D Dimensional feather shaping is a full three-dimensional shaping technique to make double sided three-dimensional feathers.

This techniques is a different approach to other dimensional carving techniques. Honghao Cai has perfected a special technique to make these feathers life-like.
